Surprise!
We’re excited to tell you that you will receive a free MAGNET WAND in the box with each one of your Stickybones.
What’s the MAGNET WAND?
It’s a unique tool we designed to allow you to quickly and easily remove the magnet from the feet (in conjunction with the FREE VERSA-TOE upgrade you are also getting) without having to lift or move the foot. This can be a great benefit for animating a walk or other subtle foot movements where you might like the foot to hover over the metal performance stage without snapping down. As an example, the Stickybones animated WALK video was created as a “Proof-of-Concept” using only Stickybones (with the Free Versa-Toe Upgrade) and Free Magnet Wand. We will create a Versa-Toe/Magnet Wand tutorial video to demo the process you can use.
While the Stickybones molds are being completed, we’re tackling countless other tasks such as:
- Setting up our UPC codes (bar codes) for each product to allow our fulfillment partners to electronically scan the Stickybones, Fly-Rig, and Performance Stage to help expedite the shipping process and minimize errors.
- Now that our Stickybones custom box is nailed down, we’re finalizing the graphics and print that you will see on the outside of the box. Fun Hint: we’ll be using a metallic ink!
- Developing a “Quality Inspection Plan” to implement in order to ensure all Stickybones meet our high standards before they’re shipped to you.
- Discovering new ways you can use your Stickybones. (More on this later!)

Hello Stickybones Backers!
We have a manufacturing progress report for you today as well as a surprise.
STICKYBONES Manufacturing Update
This past week we had a great meeting with our fantastic manufacturing team who briefed us on the latest manufacturing status reports for both Stickybones and the Fly-Rig. Some good news—all of the work and tooling is going well. The first pass of our Fly-Rig molds is basically complete! However, our mold-maker is asking for another 1-2 months to complete the Stickybones molds in addition to their original estimate. They want to make absolutely certain they meet our high-precision and tight-tolerance quality specifications—Stickybones has many more parts and steel molds than the Fly-Rig—hence why that would take longer. Of course we must allow them the time they need to do their job exquisitely—we really have no choice in that matter. Once they complete their first pass on the molds, we will receive the first manufactured samples. From there, the mold tweaking iterations will happen until we deem the functionality to be “spot-on” to our prototypes. Once that happens, we will start full production of Stickybones for our backers. (This final mold tweaking/polishing process is incredibly important, as it allows us to hone-in on the extremely precise joint functionality we expect.) We'll update you as soon as we receive the first samples.
FLY-RIG Manufacturing Update
Exciting news—The first pass of the Fly-Rig steel molds are basically done! This is wonderful and means we’re about to move onto the next step—Very soon, (hopefully next week) we’ll receive and test the first manufactured Fly-Rig samples! Just as with Stickybones, we’ll be analyzing them and making tweaks to the molds as needed. From there we await the next round of samples and will go through the tweaking process again. Once we “Final” the molds, we will begin production for our backers.
PERFORMANCE STAGE & POSE PLATE Manufacturing Update
We’re all set to begin the manufacturing of our metal products and we expect fast and smooth sailing here. Both the performance stage and the pose plates will be powder coated.

PERFORMANCE STAGES—Upgrades & Enhancements!

Increased Modularity—We’ve nixed the rubber rimming on the Performance Stages to make them totally modular—You can now “tile” them together to create a customizable work area configuration as unique and large as you desire. This adjustment also increases flush-to-table grip!

Enhanced Surface Texture—The Performance Stages will now include a light-texture for enhanced surface grip. Additionally, we’ve added 4 small holes to each Stage (one in each corner) for those who might want to use them.

Improved metal—We opted for a better grade of metal and processing that best meets our specifications for optimal and consistent results. Our Performance Stages will be made in the US.(Including the Pose Plate)
- The performance stages will be beautifully POWDER-COATED, as already announced.

What's POWDER-COATING?
Imagine a gorgeously painted bicycle chassis, a chrome-plated motorcycle exhaust and engine components or rims—these are often painted with powder coating. It’s a special way to paint metal using electricity, dry powder pigment particles, and heat. The result is gorgeous and impressively durable. We’re proud to employ this painting method for our Stickybones metal products—We know you will LOVE it!

Since our schedule has pushed out, if you pre-ordered Stickybones in hopes they’d be ready for a Holiday gift, we've made a Holiday card that you can download and print out to give to your recipient as an announcement of their awesome Stickybones gift to come!

To print the card Double-Sided:
Print the first file on a piece of paper (use a thicker paper stock for best results). Flip the paper over and print the second file onto the back side. Cut along the faint grey lines and fold in half. You now have a 5x7 inch card that can fit into a standard envelope!

December Greetings, Dear Stickybones Backer!
We hope you are enjoying the beginning of Winter and the Holiday Season. The elves are busy working in Santa’s workshop and we’re busy working in ours!
We’ve got to start with the most exciting piece of news!!—The Stickybones STEEL MOLDS are being CREATED as we speak!! We will test the first run of sample parts once the molds are cut, tooled, and polished. From there we’ll proceed with the fine-tuning, and then on to production—Woohoo!! You have made this monumental step possible! Thank you!

FLY-RIGS—Upgrades & Enhancements!

Great news! The Fly-Rigs will be in Chroma-Key Green! For those not familiar with the awesomeness of this special color, it allows users to more easily “remove” the Fly-Rig from digital images, essentially making it disappear—You can make Stickybones look like he’s flying through the air unsupported! This special color will open up your artistic possibilities.
- We’ve improved the joint configuration for even better performance and versatility of movement.
- We’ve improved HOW the Fly-Rig attaches to the back of Stickybones for instant snap-to-fit attachment—No screws or twisting needed!
- The Fly-Rig works in conjunction with the free Pose Plates—Even in wildly off-center poses, utilizing the Stickybones system!

New Enhancement! The FREE pose plate (pictured above) included with every Stickybones will now be BEAUTIFULLY POWDER COATED!! This is super exciting because powder coating is such a gorgeous way to paint metal—Not to mention extremely durable. These Pose Plates will be a sharp way to display your Stickybones on a desk or shelf! We’ve also figured out a way to incorporate your Pose Plate right into the Stickybones packaging box! (More on this in a future update.)

All metal is not created equal. We’ve carefully designed our Pose Plates to work specifically with Stickybones and the Fly-Rig. We can’t guarantee Stickybones’ compatibility with just any piece of metal. (This applies to the Performance Stage, as well.)

A FEW OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS:
Limited Edition Color Voting!! We have fun news to share—We are opening up the Limited Edition Indiegogo Color Stickybones as an optional choice for ALL Indiegogo backers—AND allow every backer to cast a VOTE for what this color will be!! Keep your eyes open for a color-vote email from us in the near future with instructions on how to cast your vote! We'll send you a reminder email when it comes time to vote.
Fly-Rig Color—We are in immediate discussions with our manufacturer about producing the Fly-Rig in Chroma-Key Green. A great many people asked for this color specifically and we're working to accommodate these requests! Stay tuned for the final verdict!
Double deluxe pack perk orders—Just a reminder, there is one performance Stage in this perk as written in the description—not two. (We structured it this way as we found that most people who wanted two Stickybones and two Fly-Rigs only wanted one Performance Stage.) If you'd like two performance stages, you'll simply need to add on another single stage with your same account and they can all be shipped together!

We’d like to share a few miscellaneous PHOTOS from our journey! (We’ll share more photos in the future as well!)
Very recently, we ran our very first demo booth! We publicly demonstrated our Stickybones figures at an event in the California Bay Area. What a great experience we had! We learned a ton from speakers, event attendees and fellow demonstrators, and we had a blast showing people what Stickybones can do! The reactions people had to Stickybones were so incredibly positive, we left the event glowing with excitement and anticipation for shipping to begin!
